Panel discussion
Securing Tomorrow
4:15 pm
At BOOST 25, the roundtable “Securing Tomorrow” will tackle the critical cybersecurity challenges facing the energy and utilities sector in an increasingly connected and data-driven world. As digital infrastructure expands: from smart meters to cloud-based platforms, so does the threat landscape, making cyber resilience a strategic priority. This session brings together industry and security experts to explore how utilities are protecting operational and customer data against evolving threats. Topics include NIS legislation, ISO 27001 compliance, data privacy under GDPR, the complexities of cloud storage jurisdictions, and the risks associated with third-party integrations. A key focus will be on building a security-first culture—where cyber awareness training, threat detection, and response readiness are embedded into daily operations. With real-world insights on proactive defense strategies and regulatory alignment, this roundtable will provide a roadmap for safeguarding trust, continuity, and critical infrastructure in the utility sector. This discussion panel will also look at AI in a context of compliance and how AI can strengthen organizations from a cyber resilience perspective but also how AI can be a threat, and the human factor becomes an even more important factor. Last but not least DORA, Cyber Resilience Act and others raise the bard for energy & utilities companies. Learn what , how, when where and which role Microsoft, Ferranti and partners can play in this area.
